A cheeky add on purchase that I now love!
This was a bit of an off the cuff purchase from Orgasmic thanks to their amazing summer clearance prices. To be fair as it had been reduced down to about £2 at the time, I couldn't help but wonder if this lube was going to be any good as after all why would it be reduced to clear?
Along with the couple of other items that I purchased in the clearance sale from Orgasmic, the lube arrived in about 2-3 working days in discreet and plain packaging which was handy as we have a couple of new people in the office who are not fully aware of my shopping habits just yet though I think they are starting to get the idea.
The bottle/pump that the Fun Factory Toy Fluid (who on earth thought of that name?) is quite a sleek design in what I assume is a pressurised canister as it resembles an aerosol can which states that it is suitable for all silicone toys. Having a quick butchers at the ingredients that feature at the bottom, you can quickly see that it is a water based lubricant hence its silicone suitability and has been thickened with Xanthan Gum. If you prefer to avoid lubes that do not have Glycerin in the ingredients list then I must disappoint you, this one does and therefore may not suit everyone, especially if you are particularly sensitive. However if you are not overly bothered by the presence of Glycerin, and you examine the bottle/can you'll find that this lube is manufactured by Pjur group who as we know make good quality lubes so that ramped up the expectations.
How it Felt
Upon first use with another Fun Factory item, the consistency of Toy Fluid was of a fairly medium consistency however a little seems to go quite a long way, I suppose it is almost on the verge of having a light gel texture which is more to my liking. After discovering the promise that this water based lube held, we were much more keen to try this one out.
The lube was incredibly easy to apply thanks to the apparent pressurised pump, a quick couple of pumps and you should have enough lube to coat whatever toy you were using as well as giving yourself or your partner a good coating. No matter the toy's composition whether it is borosilicate glass, stainless steel, silicone or any other material, this lube is suitable for all. We found that during penetrative sex, this lube lasted much longer than what we anticipated and felt slick and pleasant all the way throughout our playtime.
Even on my most largest silicone toys, this lube seemed to have some serious staying power and we only needed to reapply once during a session as opposed to some other water based lubes we have tried that had to reapplied several times to keep the required level of lubrication. So whether you prefer to play for a short while or like us go in for the long haul, this lube will do you proud. Also cleanup is a doddle as there is no sticky residue so again, a lovely surprise as we were not expecting much in the first instance.
Now whilst we haven't tried this lube for oral, I imagine that it should be fine as there is no fragrance or taste so there should not be unpleasantness should you use it for oral sex if you need to. Because the lube is free from any unnecessary perfumes or flavours, providing you do not have overly sensitive skin, this lube should be absolutely fine to use.
Care and Storage
As the lube is stored in a what appears to be a pressurised container, I would say that this is not be left to stand in direct sunlight as that could result in some exploding lube! Other than that just make sure that the nozzle doesn't get clogged up. Simples really!
A darned good lube which has a medium consistency akin to that of a light gel which seems to have some good staying power. A good all rounder as it can be used with any toy material and leaves no sticky residue not does it have any unnecessary fragrances or flavours.
So provided you are not out to buy only a lube which does not have Glycerin in the ingredients list, you should be fine, however if you are determined to avoid a lube containing parabens, then all's good as this one doesn't have parabens in its makeup.
All in all, the Fun Factory Toy Fluid is a good solid lube and if you are just looking to top up your lube stores, this one is definitely one to consider.
