The Aqua lubricant was sent to me by Wicked Sensual Care in exchange for an honest and impartial product review which by no means changes my thoughts on the item.
Yes another product that the generous people at Wicked Sensual Care (WSC) sent for me to try out and air my thoughts on. What a great bunch of people they are too! If you have read my previous two post on products that they very kindly sent me then you'll you know that they are a fantastic lube and sex essentials company created by women in the aim to create better products to make sex more pleasurable and satisfying for everyone, whilst keeping to their ethics as their products are vegan and cruelty free.
Being someone who hails from a town where a certain famous cosmetics company is based and produces most of their products which are also ethical, this is something that it pretty damned important to me. So yeah working with WSC is something special for me. I'm gonna step away from my soapbox for now and get back to the Aqua lube!
The Aqua lubricant comes is a semi opaque pump bottle which allows you to just about see the lube through the black smoked plastic bottle. This alone pleases me as I prefer to see just how much lube I have left without having to peel off labels. The pump action also makes dispensing lube a heck load easier than squeezing the life out of a semi rigid bottle to try and get some lube out! The bottle's front is simple yet effective in its design. It has WSC's brand name with the lubes name is a lovely shade of blue with a short description below and that this particular bottle holds 60ml or 2 fluid ounces of water based lubricant although a bigger bottle is available.
Turn the bottle over and you'll find the ingredients list along with some features of the lube as well as a short write-up of the Aqua lube. Checking out the ingredients list and you'll see that this treat of a lube contains no Parabens which is great however there is Glycerin which is a little disappointing as the two lubes that I have already reviewed didn't have this in them. There is also Propylene Glycol so if you are sensitive to either Glycerine or Propylene Glycol, you mind want to consider another water based lube. However if like me to seem not to have any issues, then carry on considering.
Pump a little of the lube out and you'll find that it has a light consistency but also has a silky feel to it; kinda like a silicone lube does, so I went ahead and gave it a go thinking that a little might go along way.
How it Felt
As the Aqua lube is water based, I wanted to give it as much a thorough testing as possible seeing as it is compatible with every sex toy material known to man; silicone, borosilicate glass, stainless steel, ABS plastic you name it, you're good to go. This is lube is also latex safe so also great to be used alongside condoms.
On a range of my toys this lube worked well, especially when applied liberally to both myself and whatever toy I felt like using. It didn't dry out as quickly as expected which meant that throughout my extended play sessions I really only needed to reapply perhaps once or twice. Thanks to the light viscosity of the Aqua, a little does go along way but I'm always quite liberal with my lube as in my opinion you can never have too much lube. The lube itself is very easy to distribute and apply as needed thanks to the pump action bottle.
Whilst this is a silky lube, it wasn't thick enough to cushion my clit when used with one of my many vibrators so I was sadly left with the over stimulation that I seem to suffer from. However when used with any of my dildos, it stepped up to the plate and worked well in conjunction with my own natural lubrications to keep me slick and I was able to enjoy my toys for a bloody good time as it aided with repeated penetration with some of my favourite dildos.
The Aqua lube from WSC is completely fragrance free; it is even absent the usual aqueous smell that accompanies water based lubes. This is great if you cannot get along with fragranced or flavoured lubes in your intimate areas. However I would not recommend this lube for an oral sex lube, the addition of the Aloe extract makes this lube extremely bitter and unpleasant tasting. Anyway WSC have some delicious flavoured lubes available that are gonna make oral more enjoyable so there's really no need to use the Aqua in this way.
Another great feature of the Aqua is that along with the Aloe extract there is also Olive extract too. As you many know both are great for moisturising and conditioning the skin; so why you're pleasuring yourself silly, you're also doing your skin a favour.
The Aqua is dead easy to clean up, being water based it is water soluble and will simply wash off your skin with some warm water and a bit of body wash or soap. Off of toys, a rinse and a wash with a toy cleaner will do the trick.
Care and Storage
Seeing as the Aqua lubricant comes in a pump action bottle, there isn't much to do except keeping the nozzle free of any dried up lube. Just wipe any excess drips off once you're done playing. However be careful, the nozzle doesn't lock so be sure to pop it somewhere you won't accidentally depress the pump!
Aqua lubricant from WSC is a good basic water based lubricant, it'll certainly do the trick for your everyday sex life needs, whether to aid play with toys or for penetrative sex, this silky smooth lube won't let you down. Plus it doesn't dry sticky, so there won't be any residue left behind to try and clean up afterwards.
Whilst the Aqua is Paraben and fragrance free, it sadly isn't Glyerin free so may not be suitable for everyone. However if you know that you don't have any issue using products with Propylene Glycol or Glycerin in, then this is a great everyday lube that has the added benefit of being able to moisturise and condition your skin.
Again as with the other WSC products I have tried and reviewed, I do like that this lube is vegan and cruelty free and to be honest the only thing I would like different is a tad thicker viscosity & the removal of Glycerin.
Overall, this is a pretty impressive everyday lube that looks after your skin whilst you look after sex life!
