The Jelle lubricant was sent to me by Wicked Sensual Care in exchange for an honest and impartial product review which by no means changes my thoughts on the item.
Another amazing product that was is my box of treats sent to me by Wicked Sensual Care who are by all accounts a top notch lube and sex essentials company who proudly state that their products are vegan and cruelty free which is something I can certainly get behind as I strive to use products that are at least cruelty free in my everyday life, so really why should my sex life be any different?. Wicked Sensual Care (WSC) are a US based company created by women on a mission to create better sexual enhancement products without compromise. Seeing as I have had firsthand experience with a selection of their products; I would say that they are definitely succeeding.
The Jelle lubricant comes in a squeeze tube, a little like a toothpaste does which further on down the line will make dispensing easier, especially once you get into using this lube more and more. The tube itself has WSC's simple yet effective design all over it, it simply has their brand name and the name of the product with a short description of the product and that the squeeze tube holds 120ml or 4 fluid ounces of gloriously thick lube.
On the reverse there is a heck of a lot of info including a short blurb about Jelle and its top features. On the ingredient list which can be found the reverse of the tube, you'll see that this anal lube is water based which means no matter what the toy is made of that is going to be up your bum, you're safe in the knowledge that this lube will compliment your chosen toy or partner for that matter.
Squeeze a little of the lube out on to your finger and it truly is a great thick consistency and I would describe it as a light gel which is ideal for anal play as you want as much cushioning and slickness as possible to provide the best comfort possible. It is also Paraben and Glycerin free so if you are trying to avoid those unnecessary ingredients, you have the green light here. However Jelle does have Propylene Glycol in so if you are known to be sensitive to this ingredient, sadly this isn't the anal lube for you. If like me you have no trouble, you can plunge on ahead!
How it Felt
I am very much a newbie when it comes to anal play only having used some smallish beads in the past so it did take some time to pluck up the courage and use a butt plug with this lube. Before I went for it I made damn sure that both myself and the plug which I was about to insert somewhere still fairly new to me was covered; and I mean covered in Jelle to allow for optimum cushioning.
Thanks to the thick consistency of WSC's Jelle, I was able to accomplish the easy insertion and use of the butt plug and I have to report that I was pleasantly surprised by how good it felt to be that full and not to mention how frickin' naughty I felt shoving something up my own butt!
Anyway, back to the lube. Jelle has a super slick formula that keeps on giving and considering it is water based, it didn't dry up like some other water based lubes, which with what I was trying was a blessed relief as I used the plug for about 45 mins without any issue. As this lube is also enhanced with the addition of Olive and & Aloe botanical extracts, your skin is left feeling moisturised and conditioned and considering that area of your body has no natural lubrication, the use of a good lube is absolutely essential.
Now Jelle is considered fragrance free however there is a faint aqueous smell to it but this is barely detectable so I wouldn't worry about it, it's not like it smells strongly of chemicals or some artificial air freshener type scent. Taste wise, Jelle has a slight bitter taste to it and this is down to the Aloe extract in the formulation, it's not overly strong so if you end up tasting it whilst you and your partner are in the throes of some cracking anal play, you probably won't notice it.
Cleaning up after using Jelle, is pretty simple. Being water based, it washes off skin easily with some warm water and soap/body wash. For cleaning off of toys obviously you want to kill any microbes and bacteria so a toy cleaner & warm water would be a real must.
Care and Storage
As Jelle comes in a squeezy tube, my best advice would be to make sure that the end of the tube doesn't get blocked up by any dries out lube. Just keep the lid firmly on and clean off any excess that escapes the tube when you apply.
Jelle is a fine anal lube, it does the job it's supposed to. It cushions you when you most need it and provides skin moisturisation and conditioning even after your play is over. Now not having had loads of anal lubes to compare against the Jelle, I can't hand on heart say whether it is better or worse than other anal lubes out there. However what I can say is that during my first solo plays using butt toys, this lube didn't let me down!
I particularly like that it is vegan and cruelty free and that it is free from Glycerin and Parabens as in my opinion those ingredients aren't necessary so I'm happy to see them missing from the ingredient list. If I had known that with a quality and reliable lube anal play could be that enjoyable I would have tried it years ago.
If you have the opportunity to try Jelle for yourself, I'm pretty confident it will become a firm favourite of yours!
