The Atomic was sent to me by Rocks Off in exchange for an honest and impartial product review which by no means changes my thoughts on the item.
When Rocks Off got in touch with me back in late 2017 to offer me the choice of toys to review from their newly released ranges, I was totally stoked as I had almost forgotten filling out their bloggers form they had released earlier in the year. So from their range that they were offering, I opted for the Atomic and the Teaser (review coming soon).
I must say that the first thing you notice aside from the unusual shape of the Atomic, is the colour - WOW! The Atomic is super shiny with a silver colour at the base which graduates up into a staggeringly beautiful turquoise colour towards the twin points. There aren't many toys out there on the market that are coloured like this and I have to say that in my opinion, there should be. Although I have no problem with most of the standard sex toys colours, it makes a change to see something in other than black, pink and purple.
The shape of the Atomic is also just as unusual as its colour; its super cute, small and terminates into two prongs designed to give you pin-point stimulation around your sensitive clitoral area. From the shape alone, the Atomic seems to exude style whilst also meaning business. The Atomic is made of body safe, phthalate free and non-porous ABS plastic which is great as no one wants a vibrator that could leach harmful toxins or deteriorate in shape over time. So there's no hidden nastiness here that'll cause you any harm and you can happily play knowing this.
The Atomic clitoral vibrator comes pretty much ready to go with a AAA sized battery pre-loaded, so all you need to do is to twist off the base and remove the paper disc and you're ready to have a nuclear explosion of pleasure (sorry it had to be done!) The Atomic has a silicone seal just where the base twists off to make this vibe fully waterproof so you can take this sleek vibe into the bath or shower.
Just to briefly cover the packaging; the Atomic comes sandwiched between two clear plastic moulds which is then housed in an open windowed black card outer box. On the reverse the key features of the Atomic are listed and on the sides there is the same info but in other languages aside from English.
How it Felt
To switch on the Atomic, it's as simple as pressing the single control button located at the base of the vibrator. Now Rocks Off toys are known to seriously pack a punch with their vibration strength and to be fair the Atomic is no different. Even the base speed of the steady vibration pattern makes you think "Whoa" and from there on each program or speed is just as powerful if not more so. Speaking of speeds and patterns; there are 3 speeds and 7 patterns so you have 10 functions in all to cycle through and to see which one's suit you the best. To turn off just press and hold the button.
Throughout the testing of the Atomic, I found that I personally preferred the slower of the three steady vibration speeds as well as the rise and fall pattern which seems to be a regular thing for me at the moment, regardless of the make or model of vibe. Now I must mention that whilst the vibrations from the Atomic are not rumbly at all and are very buzzy, they seem not to reverberate throughout the body of the vibrator too much and do not leave you with numb fingers after you've held the Atomic for a while, which was something I was concerned about when I first switched the Atomic on. It's clear from the design of this sleek vibrator that Rocks Off are very familiar that when it comes to clitoral stimulation, pin point accuracy is key.
The two prongs on the Atomic translate the strong vibrations to just where you need them, I found that with the prongs either side of my clit with my preferred program chosen, I was able to orgasm fairly easily and when I teamed it up with another toy such as a dildo this vibe definitely helped me to have a fully satisfying and fulfilling orgasm. Now as you may have read before, I can easily fall victim of the super sensitive clit aftermath following a clitoral orgasm and there were times where this was the case when using the Atomic. However, I found that for whatever reason if I rotated the vibrator to a more vertical the sensitivity was not present as often after orgasm or if it was, it was not as severe as if I had used the Atomic in a more horizontal position - weird.
Care and Storage
As the Atomic is made from ABS plastic, it is incredibly easy to look after. I personally recommend that before and after use, give it a quick wash with an antibacterial sex toy cleaner and very warm water and hen either leave to air dry or dry with a clean cloth.
Storing the Atomic is just as easy as ABS plastic is a stable material, you can pop it into any storage bags or boxes with your other vibes or you can keep it in its original packaging. The choice is yours really! I have personally chosen to keep it stored in a bag with other ABS and Silicone vibrators to save on the number of bags and to maximise space.
So for a small clitoral vibrator there's not really anything to criticise which is a rarity for me. It has one hell of a colour scheme, the Atomic is made from a body safe material instead of some dodgy unstable material, its motor packs a punch and whilst the vibrations are buzzy, they still get me off. Although I can appreciate that this might not be everyone's cup of tea.
What's more, Rocks Off are ever so kind to already to provide you with a battery to save you hunting round wondering where you put that pack you bought a couple of weeks ago . . .
