The Satisfyer Pro Penguin & Satisfyer 2 were supplied to me by the lovely Satisfyer team in return for an honest and impartial product review.
When the Satisfyer team dropped me an email to ask if I would like to receive some of their latest models to test out and review, needless to say the answer was a resounding yes! Having never had the opportunity or the bank balance after bills to experience this type of toy before I was absolutely thrilled at the prospect of finally being able to. I also had the chance to review the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation - yay me!
So when the box of goodies was delivered to my home, I was totally ready to sack off work & dive right on in. But of course I didn't 'cause that would be frowned upon & I'm too damn responsible to do such a thing. The temptation was there though!
So the idea behind the design of the Satisfyer ranges is to send pulsating waves of pressure to your clitoris when the mouth of the toy is in place as it's then surrounded by the body safe silicone head and the very mild vacuum that is created one the toy is switched on helps to encourage blood flow much like a pump does.
Satisfyer Pro Penguin
It's so bloody cute! I mean actually cute; its small and feminine without over doing to it. The contrasting pink colours just seem to top it off. If any toy was up for most the most aesthetically pleasing award, this one would get my vote. Even the packaging which is simplistic, white and just features an image of the Pro Penguin & its name on the front and back with some handy info along the side of the box (the fact that its waterproof, rechargeable etc etc) is a pleasure to look at. Inside the box, you'll find the following; the Satisfyer Pro Penguin, the instruction manual in 8 different languages and the charging cord.
On a more serious note though, the Pro Penguin is fits well in your hand and seeing as I have some of the smallest adult hands of everyone I know, this is flipping important for me. the last thing I want is to be fumbling around with something that is too thick or long and unwieldy. So with the curvy and almost ergonomic design, the Pro Penguin is also has a nice and balanced weight when held. The mouth of the Pro Penguin is finished in a white silicone as is the on/off button and the level button which contrasts nicely against the light and dark pink colour of the body.
Before you use the Pro Penguin for the first time, it's recommended that you give it a full charge and how easy is it? Well pop the USB end of the cord either into your laptop/PC or plug adaptor and place the end of the charger that has the two contact points onto the matching ones at the base of the Pro Penguin and the magnetised docking should hold it in place. How can you tell if its charging? The on/off & intensity level button panel flashes intermittently and once full charge has been attained, the light stays on. All in all I would say charging took about 90 mins maybe a shade less.
This model is not so vibrant not that this is a bad thing, not everyone wants a pink toy! The Satisfyer 2 is simplistic in its design; narrow tipped base widening to the head where it angles off to the nozzle. Mainly white with rose gold coloured accents make this model appear classy and therefore wouldn't look out of place if you're a girl who likes the finer things in life. Longer than the Pro Penguin, the Satisfyer 2 also features a nice and balanced weight although it doesn't feel as ergonomic. The on/off button and the +/- intensity level buttons stand out nicely in the contrasting colour, making this toy very minimalist in appearance.
Much like its petite counterpart, the Satisfyer 2 has a white coloured silicone nozzle and the main body of the toy is made out of ABS plastic so there's no chance of harmful chemicals being leached into your body. Also like the Pro Penguin, the outer packaging is white and simplistic with the handy quick reference info. Inside the box you find; the Satisfyer 2 and again a handy info booklet with instructions and troubleshooting guide in 8 different languages.
The Satisfyer 2 is not rechargeable and takes 2 x AAA batteries to power it. But on the upside you don't have to wait until its charged to use it.
How it Felt
Satisfyer Pro Penguin
After reading the recommendations within the booklet, I decided to follow Satisfyer's advice and use some water based lubricant to aid and enhance the suction that this toy provides. A little lube always helps in any situation I find. I positioned the mouth of the toy over my already eager clitoris (having had success with the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Gen) and switched the Pro Penguin on. Once it's in place, you really don't need to move it, just lay back and let the pleasure wash over you.
To switch it on just press the on/off button once and to switch it off briefly hold the same button - an absolute doddle! To cycle up through the intensity levels, press the oval shaped button just below the power on the panel. However if you find that the upper levels of the 11 you have to choose from are too much for you, there is no cycle down button which is a bit of a bummer so you'll need to grin and bear it as you keep pressing the levels button or restart your Pro Penguin by turning off and back on again as I had to.
Enough of the necessities; much like its Pro 2 counterpart which can be read here, the Pro Penguin provides you with an odd sensation at first, especially if you're still new to this type of toy, however odd it may be, it's still pleasant. Of the 11 levels of stimulation, the first 3 are nice rumbling or fluttering sensation but press that levels button to go to level 4 and things certainly go up a notch. The levels beyond this seem to increase in sensation terms more gradually. However having been able to get to about level 7 with the Pro Penguin before my body gave in I could not begin to imagine having in on level 11! If you have then I salute you!
Don't let the Pro Penguins size fool you, this toy may be on the small size but damn it sure delivers one hell of an orgasm! Again I would say that over the many times I have used the Pro Penguin I would say that I probably on average orgasmed within 4 or minutes so just a tad longer than with the Pro 2. After trying this punch packing toy in the bath, I can attest that it is definitely waterproof and functions just as well, the water aiding the seal between the silicone mouth and my clit.
Whilst when in place the Pro Penguin is fairly quiet and I would say it seems to be a bit quieter than the Pro 2. However you might want to pop the TV or some music on if you're going for the upper levels, plus you'll want some noise to cover up the ones you're making too!
The nozzle on the Satisfyer 2 appears to be a bit larger than the Pro Penguin but is more angled but still creates a good seal between itself and my clit. Now considering this one is powered by 2 x AAA batteries, I wasn't expecting it to be as powerful as it is. Again to turn on the Satisfyer 2 press the power button once and to turn off press and hold. To cycle up through the 11 intensity levels press the + button and the - button to come down, a feature I wish the Pro Penguin had.
Upon using the Satisfyer 2, again the same rumbly/fluttering sensations can be experienced on the first 3 levels, cycling up to level 4 again creates an unexpected jump in intensity (I smell a theme developing here . . . ). Whilst being quite powerful, the Satisfyer 2 does seem a little less refined when I compare it to the Pro Penguin and the Pro 2 as it took a little longer to reach orgasm than it did with the others and it didn't seem to give as fulfilling an orgasm as the others. I don't know, it could be psychosomatic having started using the Pro 2 first.
Like the other models, this one is definitely waterproof as I sit here typing without having received any electric jolt whilst in the tub although I was a bit dubious as to whether the battery compartment would be sealed off enough but clearly it is. The Satisfyer 2 feels a lot better in the water than it does out of it in my opinion and the orgasm I have had in the bath whilst using this model, matched those I had experienced with the other 2 model in regards to fulfilment and intensity.
The downside with this model is definitely the noise, subtlety is not the Satisfyer 2's forte. Not by a long shot, it's quite loud even when in place so if you need to be discreet, crank the music up or pop something action based on the telly to drown the noise out even if you are using the lower levels.
Care and Storage
Both models are very easy to keep clean and safe, there's no need for me to break it down individually. When you're done, gently remove the silicone nozzle rinse under some warm/hot water, spray with your favourite toy cleaner allow to work for a couple of minutes and then rinse and dry off with a clean and dry towel. You can even apply toy cleaner to the entire head of the toy, even to the inner sections without it harming the toy.
Regarding the storage of the Satisfyer models, each are kept within their original boxes as this keeps them clean and safe at all times. The last thing I would want would be for them to get damaged by my collection of pinwheels. But if you wish you can keep them in storage bags of you do not have my predicament.
If I had to favour one out of these two Satisfyer models, I have to say that the Pro Penguin wins hands down. It's cute to look at, due to its size it doesn't take up much room so would be ideal to take on holiday. Charging is a doddle thanks to the magnetised charging points. Not to mention its fairly quiet to a point and its damn powerful. At around £60, I'd happily recommend this to friends and family. The only niggle is that there is no convenient way to cycle down through the sensation levels easily enough but that really is it.
The Satisfyer 2 does have some positive aspects to it; one being that is sleek and classy looking and that you have ability to go up or down in sensation levels easily using the button panel. Also it is fairly powerful and it delivers satisfying orgasms (no pun intended) in the bath. However, the downsides for me are; one that it is not inherently rechargeable as I hate using batteries even the rechargeable ones as I always seem to lose them not mention I hate creating unnecessary waste so for me this is quite a big thing. Secondly the noise the Satisfyer 2 creates, there's just no getting around it. Without any form of background noise to drown it out, anyone walking past the bedroom door could probably guess what you're up to.
Overall it is a well made toy, but if I had to personally buy a Satisfyer model, I would cough up the extra tenner and buy either the Pro Penguin or the Pro 2 Next Generation.
