The Cush O2 was sent to me by Tantus in exchange for an honest and impartial product review which by no means changes my thoughts on the item.
Another item that Tantus kindly supplied to me from the shortlist I had somehow managed to come up with when they kindly asked which toys I would like to review. I had heard many good things about these dual density dildos and as I am a firm believer that bigger and thicker is better when it comes to dildos, I opted for the Cush O2.
The box that the Cush comes in is typical of Tantus, it's all clean lines with a dash of colour with the actual product easily seen thanks to the clear plastic housing. The reverse of the box has some blurb which outlines other product lines that Tantus have to offer from more sensation based toys to vibrators to strap ons.
Now for the Cush itself; I was given it in the Twilight colour which is a gorgeous soft blue hue with a violet base, seeing as blues and purples are a favourite of mine, this colour was an instant hit with me. So if you are not familiar with Tantus' range of dual density toys you're probably thinking well what the heck does that mean?
Well all of the O2 range toys have a super soft silicone outer layer to give it some, well give and a hard "muscle" core to give it some rigidity; both layers are made from Tantus' own formula of 100% Premium Silicone. This design is meant to offer you a realistic experience and I suppose it works when combined with the head of this dildo and its overall size. Thanks to its colour and design the Cush appeals to people who want all the stimulation from a cock style dildo without having the flesh tone and veins and stuff which can be off-putting.
Aside from the beautiful colour the most noticeable feature of the Cush O2 would be the mid shaft ridge which is designed to rub your G-Spot in all the right ways. Which had me keen to give this a try as I struggle with G-Spot stimulation something awful.
How it Felt
As the OH likes to get involved when using our dildos, he was keen to give the Cush a whirl on me as he was intrigued to see how well the ridge would stimulate me and if I would finally be able to get some decent G-Spot pleasure. So we lubed up with some decent water based lube (we used Wicked Sensual's Toy Love Gel) to get the dildo all good and slick and of course a decent amount of lube was applied to myself too.
The Cush O2 has a reasonable girth to it and being a bit of a size queen, I found it to be ideal as a warm up toy, other people may decide that this is the girthiest toy that they will ever face; vive la difference! Anyway the Cush for me anyway was super easy to insert thanks to its tapered head and soft outer layer and the gentle filling sensation that this gave me was very pleasurable at least which lead me to be keen later on for larger and thicker toys that I have in my collection.
However as the OH started to thrust the Cush in and out, I don't know what happened but it became the most uncomfortable dildo I have ever experienced. We tried to adjust with other angles but for whatever reason I just couldn't get any pleasure from this at all. It came to a point when I said enough was enough and we moved on to one of our usual go to toys.
This really cheesed me off as this was my first Tantus dildo experience and I was currently not particularly impressed! However I was determined not to let this initial trial get me down and I was gonna revisit the Cush to see if the initial go was just an anomaly in our otherwise usually happy toy orientated sex lives to the point where I said "Perhaps this toy is more suited to me using this on my own".
So throughout the course of next week and a half or so, I persevered and for whatever reason that I cannot fathom other than it could be due to angles and what not but the Cush turned to be a real treat to use! As before; when appropriately lubed up it slides in really easily and when I control the thrusting the ridge creates a delicious "pop" if withdrawn far enough and then reinserted into the vagina. If you have read any of my other posts, you'll know that this sensation for me is something which I totally love and cannot get enough of.
Now what about the ridge in terms of G-Spot stim? Sadly I have to report that once again my G-Spot remains uncooperative and no orgasm was achieved solely from the Cush alone. However I did have several sweet climaxes when using a vibe on my clit and having the Cush O2 inside me at the time which gave my muscles something to work against.
Whilst the OH is pleased that I was able to enjoy the Cush, he's a little sore that he couldn't produce the same amount of pleasure from controlling it when we were playing together. Oh well we can't hit a home run every time together. Sometime you gotta go it alone!
Care and Storage
The Cush O2 is simple to look after and providing you don't do anything stupid to it; it'll last you a lifetime. Being high quality silicone, you can boil it, bleach it and if you happen to have one, you can even pop it into the dishwasher (without the dishes of course). We personally opt for rinsing in very warm/hot water and applying a sex toy cleaner fluid or foam and rinse off again after a few minutes. Now as this is a matte silicone, you can be sure that every piece of dust and lint will be attracted to it so I would say it would be best to wash before and of course after each use.
To keep it clean and safe, I recommend keeping it in a lint free bag - simple as that!
I suppose I have some mixed feelings about the Cush, don't get me wrong it's a beautifully made and visually appealing toy and if I was buying solely for my own solo use, this would definitely end up in the shopping basket. I just wish it was something that I could use together with the OH but for some reason this isn't suited to our play together. It doesn't mean we'll stop trying to get this down to perfection and to a point where I can enjoy it hands free but on the first few tries little progress has been made.
But don't let that put you off, this is a great solo toy if you're looking for something with a bit more girth but is still easy to control and manoeuvre on your own. Its dual density gives it the feel of a real cock without the unsightliness that can be accompanied with such realism and of course being silicone the Cush O2 is totally body safe!
