The Echo was sent to me by Tantus in exchange for an honest and impartial product review which by no means changes my thoughts on the item.
The final offering from the shortlist that Tantus very kindly sent me to review. I chose the Echo as I have always admired this dildo come vibrator from afar but have sadly never been able to get my hands on one for one reason or another. When it arrived, I was so full of nervous anticipation as to whether it would live up to my expectations.
The main feature of the Echo has to be those ridges - Love!!! There are 5 in total undulating from the base all the way up the shaft to the stylised coronal ridge just under the phallic shaped head. When I first spied them in person when I opened my box of goodies from Tantus, my heart absolutely leapt as I am a complete sucker for texture as you may or may not have gathered from previous reviews of mine!
The Echo can come in 4 colours; Midnight Purple, Pearl White, Wine and Purple Haze. Some colours are only associated with the super soft version and not the original version that we are reviewing here. Tantus blessed me with the Purple Haze colour, which turns out to be a limited edition online only colour in the standard firmness, so if you are interested in buying an Echo by the end of my review, you'd better get your skates on as it's only available whilst stocks last. The colour has a wonderful slight pearlescent look to it which made me fall for it before it came anywhere near my vagina! Probably the most important aspect is that the Echo is made from Tantus' own blend of 100% Premium Silicone. meaning that its phthalates free, non-porous and completely body safe!
In regards to the size of the Echo, I would say is fairly average which isn't necessarily a bad thing, even for me who seems to be a bit of a greedy mare at the best of times as this means that most of you out there will be able to enjoy the Echo's ridges to the fullest extent. What's more is that the Echo is harness compatible so should strap on action be your thing, then this is a big plus point for you. Part of the shaft is hollow and this allows you to insert the 3 function water proof bullet vibrator that comes included (batteries too) with the Echo to allow you to have some vibraty internal stimulation.
I'll briefly cover the packaging; it's all very open and transparent, allowing you to view the Echo in all its glory before you even get it out of the box and allowing easy recycling. The back of the box features some further info regarding some of the other product ranges that Tantus offer.
How it Felt
On the Echo's first outing; I had to try it with the bullet vibrator in the cavity. I thoroughly lubed the Echo up with one of my good quality water based lubricants and gently inserted it, mindful of those ridges and careful not to do myself a mischief before . . . well before I got up to mischief! Oh to help with popping the bullet inside the shaft of the Echo I recommend lubing the bullet up too as this helps get it in there and removing it too.
Now as the Echo is not overly girthy at 1.5 inches in diameter it was easily inserted despite my being careful and I was able to take all 6.5 inches of insertable length easily (Yes I know I'm a greedy cow). The 5 ridges that I spoke of earlier created those delicious "pops" that I so love as I withdrew and reinserted the Echo and despite not having the biggest girth in the world, I found that I didn't care and that was all due to those ridges! Sadly the vibe in the shaft of the Echo didn't do much for me as I felt that the buzzy vibrations just didn't travel well through the silicone but what I did feel of them did feel nice and added a slight extra dimension of vaginal stimulation.
Thereafter I decided not to use the bullet vibe with the Echo and when I rode it, which is now by far my most favourite way of enjoying this dildo I applied a more rumbly vibe to my clit to ensure that an orgasm would ensue. When I got myself into a good rhythm riding the Echo, those pronounced ridges rubbed against the front wall of my vagina and whilst I'm not an overly religious person I do still think that that feeling has got to be close to the divine!
As you all know by now I tend to struggle with G-Spot stimulation and have only recently been able to achieve the coveted blended orgasm. Whilst the Echo did not provide any pronounced G-Spot stimulation here, it definitely helped to enhance my clitoral orgasms as the ridges help provide your Kegel muscles with a bit of a workout as you clench against them or at least I did!
I would say that to benefit the most from the texture that the Echo provides, riding it is probably the best way, whilst the cavity in the shaft can provide a light suction when on a smooth and flat surface. However if you really want to go for it, Tantus do have a universal suction cup for their compatible dildos and the Echo is one of them. However I managed well enough without. Time and time and time again :D
Care and Storage
Being silicone, the Echo requires very little specialist attention. I personally recommend that before and after use just wash the Echo in very warm water and use a sex toy cleaner to ensure its kept hygienic and either dry with a lint free cloth or allow to air dry. You can even pop it into boiling water or a dilute bleach solution every now and again to sterilise it.
To store the Echo, you can either keep it in any spare storage bags you may have or as I tend to do keep it in a wash bag as these are zip closable, allow ventilation but keep out most of the dust and lint that silicone toys attract like nothing else! Or if you're not overly bothered, you can pop it straight into your toy box/drawer alongside any other silicone toys you may have. Please only do this if your toys are truly silicone and not some dodgy sounding material pretending to be silicone e.g. Sil-A-Gel and the like.
Er, so there's really not much to dislike with the Echo which is probably why it's so damn popular and seems to have hundreds of people who love it and it would appear that I have joined them. I find myself now starting to look at less girthy but more textured toys and the Echo has definitely played a part in this change of thinking. The Echo is 100% body safe, its versatile and can provide the user with bags of stimulation and pleasure no matter how you choose to use it.
I frickin' love it and I'm willing to bet that you probably will too!
